Dear Lions,

We had our first Council meeting August 15th and it was well attended. I shared my dreams for the Lions of CT for year 2011-2012, and here is what I said: I would like to see the Lions of CT shine in New England, and would like to see Lions finish the year on a positive note; positive note means positive membership. I believe we can do it. And here is how we do it. By telling our new members and perspective members stories; stories like the one we heard last year at USA/Canada Forum in Milwaukee. A young lady stood up in front of 3,000 Lions and said thank you; thank you for the gift of sight, because of you I can see all of you.

By taking our members to the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation and let them experience the blind fold walk with a Fidelco Dog; so they can see what the blind person is going through; so they know what Lions do. Or take them to Yale University and let them speak to the surgeon who just performed surgery on a 11 year old boy who has been blind all of his life. Right after the surgery he could see his mother for the first time and could see the toy that he held so close to his heart for the first time. Yes; my fellow Lions those are the stories we need to tell. Not about your Pancake Breakfasts or Golf Tournaments or your Antique Car Shows. And when you do tell them those stories you can "Sia The Possibilities."

My fellow Lions individually we can go so far. "Together we can Lasso the Moon."

I wish all of you a fantastic Lion year.

Yours in Lionism,

CC Sia
